Our Silk Jacket is sourced from silks listed in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China, This Gambierred Guangdon Guaze (香雲紗). This design has no lapels and no canvas made to its minimal to feel the fabric itself, a super lightweight shoulder pad, and natural horn invisible buttons. To reciprocate the beauty of the silk itself, the design is made to a straight cut reflecting the sheen of the silk itself.
The Material:
The Gambiered Guangdong gauze is crafted using original silk as raw material. Its weaving process involves skein weaving to create a white yarn base with small geometric jacquard patterns. The fabric is soaked in Guangdong's unique plant dye, and yam juice, and coated with yellow-brown colloidal substances derived from river silt rich in minerals from the Pearl River Delta. This complex production includes repeated washing, fermentation, and drying to create a luxurious silk fabric.
